Florida State is a coastal state and South Florida consists of nine counties. These counties are divided into two; six from the southwest portion and three from the southeast. Charlotte, Glades, Lee, Hendry, Collier and Monroe are the counties that make up the southwest part while Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade are on the other side.
Florida is known as the "Sunshine State". However, sometimes the weather in Florida suggests something else. Florida is a favorite destination of hurricanes. At least 6 major hurricanes have been recorded and several tropical storms. The geographical location of this state is one of the factors why Florida is constantly hit by hurricanes.
Houses in Florida are built to sustain these natural calamities. The safety of the homes are always given highest priority in building construction. Most of the houses are made up of concrete. Sometimes, other hard and fixed materials are also used, like clay and bricks. These materials can withstand the strong winds of hurricanes.
South Florida houses for sale come in different designs and sizes. Most houses for sale have an average building age of 8-10 years. However, there are houses that are newly built.
The type house to be bought depends on the preference of the buyer. There are houses that are single-family, apartment, condominium-style, etc. South Florida Realtors price the house according to the condition of the house, the age and location of the house.
Here are some considerations to think before buying a house:
- The Weather - make sure that the weather in places that are included in your option are tolerable for your health. The weather conditions of a place are very important. If the desired place to move to has a history of destructive hurricanes, look at the benefits the government in that particular area offers for help. It will help you minimize the expenses to reconstruct should the area be struck again.
- The Place - you must also consider the place you want to reside. Look for the place that is near a church, school, malls, office or any place that is very necessary for your lifestyle.
- The Tax - taxes vary from place to place. There are states that tax higher than the other. Taxes come in different types. In purchasing a house, property tax is your main concern. Be sure that you can bear the tax to be collected by the government.
- The Real Estate Agents - the first move to buy a house is to look for the seller. Sellers can be obtained through real estate agents. Be sure that you find a good agent. To be sure, try too contact the local registrar and ask if your chosen agent is legal or not.
- The Planned Length of Residency - if you only plan to stay in the house for 5 years or less, renting may be the most suitable option. Renting is one way of saving money that is paid for tax.
These are some simple tips you can use in finding a house be it in South Florida or in any place.
